Tesla recalled its Semi Truck over a breaking issue

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recalled 35 of the Tesla Semi trucks which are expected to have a parking brake issue.

According to the NHTSA, the specific some Semi Trucks have an electronic parking brake module that could fail to work properly due to an air leakage which could lead to a crash. When the driver parks the truck and when releases the service break after applying the parking brakes it could fail to work which leads to a crash.

But right now this brake issue is detected in the semi trucks which have components manufactured by the Bendix Commerical Vehicle System and the trucks which are manufactured between November 30, 2022 to February 18, 2023.

Also, Bendix has faced this same issue in other 836 units of other vehicles (Non-Tesla) which is also needed a proper inspection to prevent any accidents.

According to NHTSA, this brake issue is first detected by Bendix and informed Tesla, where Tesla spent it next month investigating it and decided to recall its 35 semi trucks that could have this problem.

But as of now, there are not any crashes or any other parking brake issues, or any insurance claims that are not reported by the company. And Tesla said it will replace the affected components with new ones and it will be free.

Also, Tesla as soon as find this issue it has worked on it and all the Semi Trucks which are manufactured after March 14, 2023 are already equipped with new components which does not have any braking issues.

Overall it’s quite a small throwback for Tesla Because it has just been a few months since Tesla started delivering its Semi Trucks and already it has recalled some units over an issue.

Now we can hope there will be not any other issues will detect in the semi trucks which will need any recalls in the future.
